Q: When I try to run the 3DDisplay module in TAP I get the message that DirectX must be installed. But I already have DirectX installed? What do I need to do?

A: Most likely DirectX was previously installed on your machine in "unmanaged" mode. The 3DDisplay module in TAP uses the Microsoft dotNET technology, so it needs DirectX in the "managed" mode.

You can update your DirectX installation as follows:

1. Download the full install package "dx90update_redist.exe" from Microsoft.

2. Extract the install files

3. Install DirectX run time by running "dxsetup.exe"

4. Extract the file "ManagedDX.CAB" into "mdxredist.msi"

5. Install Managed DirectX by running "mdxredist.msi"
